One twelfth scale miniature porcelain doll standing approx five and a half inches tall. Edward IV reigned from 1461 - 1483 and this miniature depicts a young Edward. He was the older brother of Richard III and later married Elizabeth Woodville. Edward wears
a short doublet to show off his long legs in their hose. His
overobe is fur trimmed at the neck, edge and around his elaborate
sleeves. His robe is in a highly decorated fabric and richly
coloured. About his waist he carries a golden sword. Edward
wears a bejewelled chain across his shoulders and a jewelled crown upon
his golden hair. |
