One twelfth scale miniature porcelain dolls standing approx five and a half inches tall.

These hand crafted miniature porcelain character dolls depict Young King Henry and Margaret of France.

Young King Henry was the oldest son of Henry II and was crowned during his father's lifetime, but died before his father in 1183 (his father didn't die till 1189).

The young couple are depicted holding their crowns but not wearing them, as they never actually became King and Queen in their own right, due to the early death of Young Henry.

Henry wears a tunic of rich red with a black belt with goldtone decoration.  His embroidered fabric green cape is lined in a matching shade which is also echoed in the colour of his hose.

The beautiful Margaret wears a golden gown  with a green cape lined in red.  Her green and gold braided belt wraps around her waist and falls around her hips; her dress has large long sleeves which were popular during the period.
