One twelfth scale miniature porcelain dolls standing approx five and a half inches tall. These hand crafted miniature porcelain character dolls depict Richard I and Berengaria who reigned 1189 - 1199 Berengaria is dressed in lavish silk gown in shades of purple, befitting her royal status. A heavily decorated belt hangs from her waist and black and gold braiding sweep around the back of the gown. On her head she wears a mantle veil underneath her golden crown. Richard is dressed in his very recognisable Crusader outfit with a white tunic and large red cross, illustrating the flag of St George's cross. Below his gold buckled belt hangs a his sword in it's scabbard. His royal blue cloak is decorated with the Three Lions emblem. Richard's crown is lavishly decorated with many stones and fleur de lys.
